General information
The Women's Studies Department at Utrecht University was established formally in 1982. It was the culmination of ongoing women's studies activities in different faculties by individual staff-members and student-groups. Utrecht offers a large and inspiring study-programme in Women's Studies covering five faculties:
Arts
Social Sciences
Law
Theology
Natural Sciences.

The Women's Studies programme has developed into a highly professional interdisciplinary research and teaching programme and offers a number of courses taught in English. Erasmus exchange programme NOISE
For students at the following 12 European universities: Abo/Turku, Antwerp, Bielefeld, Bologna, Dublin, Madrid, Odense, Paris VII, Thessaloniki, York and Utrecht, we have an Erasmus exchange programme: the Network Of Interdisciplinary Women's Studies in Europe (NOISE). This Women's Studies exchange programme is unique for its interdisciplinary character, ranging from arts, social sciences and biology to theology.
